Synaps announces strategic partnership with Privado ID and Linea

About the partnership

Synaps and Privado ID have joined forces to create a robust Proof of Uniqueness (PoU) solution, now listed as part of Linea's Proof of Humanity solutions. This innovative solution is also integrated into the Linea Voyage, a series of ecosystem activations designed to enhance the decentralization and growth of the Linea zkEVM ecosystem. The Privado ID x Synaps PoU is the first biometric-based Proof of Humanity attestation to be integrated into Linea, significantly reducing bot activity and improving network quality.

How It Works

• Verification Process: Users verify their uniqueness with a 3D face scan. Importantly, no biometric data is stored, ensuring privacy.

• Credential Anchoring: The attestation is anchored to the VeraxRegistry, making users eligible for the LXP drop.

• Strengthening Credentials: Users can strengthen their PoU credentials by re-verifying after 14 days.

• Zero-Knowledge Proofs: The solution leverages zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) to allow identity verification without revealing sensitive information.

• Cost and Access: Each PoU credential costs just $1 on Linea, with a total of $2 for two credentials. Users must claim both within 14 days.

• Sybil Resistance: Each unique user can perform only one verification per credential to maintain sybil resistance.

• Device Compatibility: Currently, there’s no sync between web and mobile identity wallets. Users should use the Privado ID web wallet for all verifications.

PoU levels

Our Proof of Uniqueness (PoU) solution is meticulously designed to attest to users' uniqueness while preserving their privacy. The PoU solution is structured with two levels to indicate the credibility of the uniqueness verification: the higher the level, the more confidence we have in the user's uniqueness.

• Level 1: Users achieve this level upon their first verification, which includes performing a liveness check. This initial level provides a 14-day living credential with a lower level of assurance.

• Level 2: After a waiting period of 14 days, users can reclaim their uniqueness credential through a second verification. This step elevates them to Level 2, which offers a 6-month living credential and a higher level of assurance.
